30/05/2017 (Agence Europe) – The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Network (EMHRN) is calling on Algeria to ensure a fair trial for minority rights activists. In a press release dated Monday 29 May 2017, the organisation states that "the Algerian authorities should drop all charges against a leading activist and his 40 co-defendants that are based on their peaceful activism for the rights of the Amazigh, or Berber". Their detention started in July 2015, the press release states, and the call for the charges against them to be dropped is signed by Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and Front Line Defenders.
