11/05/2017 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission should abandon the proposals it is planning to present on 31 May regarding the rest times of bus and coach drivers, according to the European Transport Workers' Federation (ETF) and the European Federation of Road Traffic Victims (FEVR). In a joint statement published on Wednesday 10 May, the two organisations call on the Commission not to change the weekly rest times and numbers of consecutive days worked as the institution is planning to do. Readers may recall that on 31 May, the Commission is to present the road package, which will undoubtedly contain several reforms in the field of road transport (see EUROPE 11758). (LT)
