Council only partially revises organic farming negotiating mandate

It was only with difficulty that the Maltese Presidency of the Council of the EU managed to win approval on Tuesday 25 April to partially to revise the negotiating mandate on organic farming (see EUROPE 11773).

Member state experts, meeting in the Special Committee on Agriculture (SCA) on Monday 24 April, did not approve the mandate proposed by the Maltese Presidency, which wants greater room for manoeuvre in the trialogue negotiations with the European Parliament delegation on 3 May. The...
