In the run-up to the European summit on Brexit on Saturday 29 April, the European automotive manufacturers and supplier associations, ACEA and CLEPA, highlighted the potential damage that the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the EU may inflict on the competitiveness of their industry, which represents 6.5% of EU GDP and employs nearly 12.2 million people across Europe.
