18/04/2017 (Agence Europe) – As the EU faces growing mistrust from citizens, the European Parliament’s environment committee is planning to play a useful role by organising a public hearing in Brussels from 16.30 to 18.30 on Tuesday 25 April on the EU’s value-added with regard to the environment, public health and food safety. All three domains are covered by the committee’s work and impact directly on the daily life of citizens. Participating in the hearing will be representatives of the European Environment Bureau (EEB), the European Bureau of Consumer Unions (BEUC), business (BusinessEurope), the European Food Safety Agency (EFSA), the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA), the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and the European Commission. Former US special envoy for climate change Todd Stern will also attend. (AN)
