This week, the NGO Oxfam criticised the tendency to speak about Ireland's “worst excesses” in the area of tax strategy in the past tense. "Government ministers point to the closing of the Double Irish (a system allowing a multinational with a subsidiary in Ireland to route its profits to an external jurisdiction where they are not taxed: Ed) in this regard.
