24/02/2017 (Agence Europe) – The likelihood of the European Commission adopting its White Paper – on the future of the European Union with 27 member states – on Wednesday 1 March is growing increasingly stronger. This scenario is "very probable" as a special meeting of the College of Commissioners has been called for the evening of Tuesday 28 February, a Commission source told EUROPE on Friday 24 February. This hypothesis was mentioned by Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker on Thursday during a speech at the University of Louvain-la-Neuve in Belgium. However, on Friday, a Commission spokesperson was more evasive, saying that the White Paper would be unveiled in the coming weeks, in time for the ceremonies of the 60th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome.
