20/02/2017 (Agence Europe) – During her meeting with US Vice President Mike Pence on Monday 20 February, the EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini, underlined "the need to preserve and fully implement the Iran deal", according to a press release from the European External Action Service (EEAS). Earlier, on 18 February, Mogherini had highlighted with Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif "the need for all sides to firmly stick to their commitments under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA)" and "the need for a full and effective implementation by all sides throughout the lifetime of the agreement", the EEAS stated. US President Donald Trump has described the agreement as "one of the worst ever concluded". (CG)
