02/02/2017 (Agence Europe) – Commission Vice-President with responsibility for the Energy Union Maros Sefcovic will start his second Energy Union tour on Friday 3 February with a visit to the Dutch cities of Breda and Rotterdam. In Breda, he will visit a number of renewable energy projects and, in Rotterdam, he will meet with the mayors of The Hague and Rotterdam, Jozias Van Aartsen and Ahmed Aboutaleb, and will also participate in a Citizens’ Dialogue along with economist Jeremy Rifkin. Following the second report on the state of the Energy Union project, presented on 1 February (see EUROPE 11716), Sefcovic’s second tour around Europe will seek to encourage swift implementation of the Energy Union at the national level, with preparation of national energy and climate plans, and also at the local level, with promotion of promising, innovative local projects.
