During a phone conversation on Tuesday 31 January, European Commissioner for Trade Cecilia Malmström and Mexico's Minister of the Economy Ildefonso Guajardo agreed to accelerate negotiations for updating the EU-Mexico free trade agreement. These negotiations were launched in May, and Malmström and Guajardo have now set out a new timetable for them.
