For the 12-month period from November 2015 to October 2016, EU agri-food exports were worth €129.9 billion, an increase of 1.9% in value terms compared to the same period one year ago, according to the latest monthly report published by the European Commission on Thursday 22 December.
Since agri-food imports from third countries over those 12 months decreased slightly to €112 billion, the export surplus for the period increased to more than €18 billion, the Commission says.
