National experts on the EU Standing Committee on Plants, Animals, Food and Feed meeting on Tuesday 13 December endorsed the European Commission proposal that ground insect meal be introduced as a source of protein for farmed fish.
The text is expected to be adopted officially by the Commission in the spring and come into effect from 1 July 2017.
