15/12/2016 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 14 December, the European Parliament decided (by 488 votes in favour, 133 against and 88 abstentions) to approve the proposal of the Council to appoint Estonia's Juhan Parts as a member of the European Court of Auditors. Parts has previously served as Auditor General, Prime Minister (2003-2005) and Minister of the Economy of his country. The Council is responsible for decisions on appointing members of the Court and Parliament is consulted. (LC)
