28/11/2016 (Agence Europe) – The value of European agricultural output dropped by 1.8% in 2015, compared with 2014, largely as a result of a significant fall in animal production (down 5.5%), where the slump in prices (down 8.5%) was only partially offset by the increase in volume (up 3.3%), according to estimates published by Eurostat, the EU statistical office, on Monday 28 November. The economic accounts for agriculture reveal that total agricultural output in the European Union (EU) stood at €411.2 billion at basic prices in 2015, down by 1.8% compared with 2014. (LC)
