Preparations at the European Parliament for examining the draft European regulation on member states’ effort-sharing of emissions reductions in sectors not covered by the emissions trading scheme (ETS) – transport, buildings, agriculture, forestry and waste – are intensifying.
The rapporteur on this key climate issue at the European Parliament’s environment committee, Gerben-Jan Gerbrandy (ALDE, the Netherlands), is planning to publish his draft report towards the end of the year.
