European Parliament's agriculture committee approves compromise text on plant health

13/10/2016 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 13 October, the European Parliament's agriculture committee approved (28 votes in favour, 1 against, with 6 absentions) the compromise text between the EU institutions for new rules on plant health. The aim of the text is to prevent the introduction of harmful organisms, such as Xylella fastidiosa (see EUROPE 11596, 11454).
