06/10/2016 (Agence Europe) – With ratification by Canada (4.1% of global emissions) and the EU and 7 of its member states in New York on Wednesday 5 October (through EU and the seven countries’ ambassadors to the UN), the double threshold stipulated in the Paris Climate Agreement for its coming into force (at least 55% of parties, representing at least 55% of global emissions) has been reached. The agreement can therefore come into force in 30 days, just before COP22. (AN)
