06/09/2016 (Agence Europe) – Nearly €160 in VAT income was lost to the EU in 2014 due to legal tax optimisation, fraud, errors, vagaries, negligence, late payment or bankruptcies, according to figures published by the European Commission on Tuesday 6 September. The VAT gap fell by €2.5 billion in 2014 on the previous year, with the biggest gap being in Romania (37.9%) and the smallest in Sweden (1.2%). (EL)
