02/09/2016 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 1 September, the European Commission announced that it was helping to finance a major road infrastructure project in Slovakia through cohesion fund co-financing for a total amount of €238 million. The aim is to improve the Rhine-Danube corridor as part of the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T), and to relieve pressure on the roads to the cities of Zilina and Martin. The project was started during the previous 2007-13 period.(PH)
