On Friday 2 September, the French government announced that France would be issuing its first ‘green’ sovereign bonds in 2017.
In a press release, the French finance minister, Michel Sapin, said the arrival of the French state on the green sovereign bond market would allow an acceleration of the development to turn Paris into one of the reference financial locations in supporting the energy transition.
