30/08/2016 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 29 August, the European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT) announced the launch of a free online course (MOOC). This course will be open from 24 October for five weeks and will seek to teach all those interested in learning how to use satellite data to monitor the health of the oceans. The course is timed to coincide with the coming on stream of satellite data from the Sentinel-3A Satellite, which was launched in February as part of the Copernicus Programme. The use of data from European space programmes involves one of the biggest challenges in European space policy and will be the subject of a strategy next autumn (EUROPE 11540, 11560). (PH)
