22/08/2016 (Agence Europe) – Estonia has become the 17th country to decide to apply European rules on international divorce in the form of the Rome 3 Regulation, introduced using enhanced cooperation, the European Commission announced on Wednesday 10 August. Under Rome 3, couples can choose in advance which law shall apply if they get divorced. Without agreement from the couple, judges have the option of deciding on the applicable law under special criteria.(SP)
