Brussels, 29/07/2016 (Agence Europe) - On Friday 29 July, the European Commission announced publication in the EU Official Journal of an implementing regulation introducing definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of Chinese high fatigue-performance reinforcement bars ('HFP rebars').
HFP rebars are a specific type corresponding to the standard used in the UK and in Ireland, which are produced in several EU member states as well as outside the EU and are widely used for reinforcing concrete in construction, explains the Commission.
The anti-dumping investigation into imports of these products from China began on 30 April 2015 following an industry complaint, and provisional anti-dumping measures were introduced on 29 January 2016. The definitive duty ranges from 18.4% to 22.5%.
Currently, the EU has 37 trade defence measures in place against imports of steel products, 15 of which involve China, along with six investigations taking place, four of which involve China. (Original version in French by Emmanuel Hagry)
