11/07/2016 (Agence Europe) - New anti-dumping enquiry targeting hot rolled flat steel products. On Friday 8 July, the European Commission launched an anti-dumping procedure targeting imports of certain hot rolled flat products of iron, non-alloy or other alloy steel from Brazil, Iran, Russia, Serbia and Ukraine. These products are allegedly dumped on to the production of other steel products used in a variety of industrial applications in construction, shipbuilding, gas containers, pressure instruments and energy pipelines. This investigation was launched following a complaint from the European Steel Association, Eurofer, lodged on 23 May and comes on top of the current investigations into anti-dumping and anti-subsidies targeting similar products from China launched in February and May. The Commission has nine months to decide whether provisional countervailing duties have been appropriately fulfilled and another six months to decide whether to impose permanent duties. (EH)
