27/05/2016 (Agence Europe) - 21 member states warned over public procurement directives transposition delays. On Thursday 26 May, the European Commission sent warning letters to 21 member states (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Estonia, Ireland, Greece, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Finland, Spain and Sweden) for not having transposed three directives in time on public procurement markets and concessions (Directive 2014 2014/23/EU, 2014/24/EU and 2014/25/EU). The cut-off date for the transposition was 18 April 2016. These directives seek to optimise procedures for awarding public procurement contracts and concessions. (PH)
