24/05/2016 (Agence Europe) - Budgets committee approves EGF aid to Greek employees. On Monday 23 May, the EU Budgets Committee approved the proposal to grant Greece €6.46 million from the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF) to support Greek employees affected by the bankrupt Greek supermarket chain "Larissa" (see EUROPE 11532). This aid will help 557 workers find a new job and also includes 543 young people who are not in employment, education or training (NEETs) in the plans. The EP will approve this aid on 26 May and the Council on 6 June. (LC)
