19/05/2016 (Agence Europe) - Council expected to adopt text of EU-Mauritania agreement on 24 May. The Council of the EU is expected to adopt, without debate, on Tuesday 24 May, the decision on the conclusion of the protocol setting the fishing opportunities and the financial contribution (€59 million per year) stipulated in the fisheries partnership agreement between the EU and Mauritania (see EUROPE 121548). The Committee of the permanent representatives of the member states to the EU (Coreper) approved the text on Wednesday 18 May. The text of the first EU-Liberia fisheries agreement will also be adopted by the Council on 24 May (see EUROPE 11548). (LC)
