03/05/2016 (Agence Europe) - Commission investigation into possible statistical fraud in Land Salzburg opened. The European Commission decided on Tuesday 3 May to open a formal investigation into the possible manipulation or serious negligence, over a number of years before 2014, in the production of statistics in Land Salzburg, Austria. If manipulation is confirmed, the Commission may recommend to the Council the imposition of a fine. (MB)
