NEWS BRIEFS / (ae) better regulation

27/04/2016 (Agence Europe) - Impact Assessment Institute (IAI) launch Wednesday 27 April. By way of its official "private foundation" status obtained on 18 March last, the IAI now has a solid institutional basis for attempting to influence the work of stakeholders at a European level. The Institute is recognised as a "valuable asset to the EU policy development process", explained the IAI president, Simon Godwin, on 18 April. It has been included in the transparency register since 8 April and covers all the different stages of the legislative process and, since December 2015, it has already examined proposals for legislative policies in several areas such as energy and climate. The results obtained demonstrate that "significant improvements are needed in the evidence-based for EU decision-making", explained the IAI in a press release.
