In a written question to European Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development Phil Hogan on Friday 22 April, Eric Andrieu MEP (S&D, France) asks the Commission for truffles to be covered by European Regulation 1144/2014 on providing information and promotion for agricultural products. “Given the economic effects that truffle growing generates for the producer regions, it is fundamental for it to be able to benefit from European aid on agricultural promotion”, Andrieu says in a press release.
