20/04/2016 (Agence Europe) - Meeting between Merkel, Cameron, Hollande, Renzi and Obama 25 April. On Wednesday 20 April, the French Presidency announced the holding of an informal meeting on Monday 25 April in Hanover (Germany), between the German Chancellor, Angela Merkel, the respective French and American Presidents François Hollande and Barack Obama and the British and Italian Prime Ministers, David Cameron and Matteo Renzi. A spokesperson from the Élysée explained that "The leaders will discuss major international subjects" but did not provide any further details of what these might be. The meeting was confirmed by a German government spokesperson, who also explained that the meeting, organised at the invitation of Ms Merkel, aims to provide discussions about many different international political questions. Syria, Libya, the migration crisis and Ukraine could possibly be on the meeting agenda. (CG)
