Brussels, 19/04/2016 (Agence Europe) - Negotiations between the European Union institutions can now begin on the regulation establishing an EU framework for data collection, management and use in the fisheries sector.
The European Parliament's fisheries committee adopted its position on this text on Tuesday 19 April and gave rapporteur Marco Affronte (EFDD, Italy) a mandate for negotiations with the Council. Several compromise amendments were passed by the members of the committee on what is a somewhat technical text though one on which agreement is likely to be reached relatively quickly with the Council (see EUROPE 11529).
