19/04/2016 (Agence Europe) - Dombrovskis confirms alternative measures rethink if budget has deteriorated. The Commissioner for the Euro and Social Dialogue, Valdis Dombrovskis, was asked about the ongoing negotiations between Greece and its institutional lenders as part of the follow-up mission to the third Greek bailout plan (see EUROPE 11534). The Commissioner explained "There is an agreement in principle which now needs to be further explored by missions in A on using EC figures as baseline scenario and looking at possible contingency measures which could be needed in case more pessimist IMF scenario were to materialise". He said that an agreement was "relatively close" if the political will is there but refused to say whether a positive conclusion to the negotiations could be envisaged by the Greek Easter on Monday 2 May.
