05/04/2016 (Agence Europe) - European Commission and AU Commission to meet in Addis Ababa on 7 April. The annual meeting of the European Commission and the Commission of the African Union (AU) will take place at the AU's headquarters in Addis Ababa on Thursday 7 April, under the joint chairmanship of High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini and AU Chairperson Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma. As usual, the two institutions will focus, in their plenary and working sessions, on the common challenges to be addressed by both continents - primarily migration, but also peace, security, sustainable growth and any other area covered by the joint EU-Africa strategy. In addition to Mogherini, the European delegation will include European Commission Vice-Presidents for the Digital Single Market Andrus Ansip and for the Euro and Social Dialogue Valdis Dombrovskis, and Commissioners Neven Mimica (International Cooperation and Development), Marianne Thyssen (Employment, Social Affairs, Skills and Labour Mobility), Christos Stylianides (Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management) and Violeta Bulc (Transport).
