Up to €755 billion investment needed in EU nuclear cycle between now and 2050, according to PINC 2016

Brussels, 04/04/2016 (Agence Europe) - The new nuclear illustrative programme (PINC) unveiled by the Commission on Monday 4 April focuses on investment related to safety upgrades in the EU's nuclear power plants following the Fukushima accident and it sets out the funding estimated to be needed to replace ageing nuclear power plants, decommissioning power stations and managing radioactive waste and spent fuel.
