04/04/2016 (Agence Europe) - EU modernises inland navigation traffic management. The Market Observation Report on Inland Navigation in Europe, which is regularly drafted by the Central Commission for the Navigation of the Rhine (CCNR), will now be published four times a year (three quarterly reports in March, September and December and a detailed report in June), according to an announcement made by the organisation on Thursday 31 March. The report will be presented as a revised online digital version in four languages (English, French, German and Dutch). This modernisation project was made possible by way of a European Commission competition which has also been financing the data collection tasks carried out by the CCNR since 2005. Integration of the inland river market is continuing, with a recent informal agreement obtained as part of the inter-institutional dialogue on standards governing the technical specificities of riverboats (EUROPE 11515).
