Brussels, 31/03/2016 (Agence Europe) - The annual inflation in the euro area was up very slightly in March on the previous month, although still in negative figures.
In March, inflation stood at -0.1%, compared to -0.2% in February, according to data published by Eurostat, the EU statistical office on Thursday 31 March. On Thursday 14 April, Eurostat will publish definitive figures covering the whole of the month of March.
As regards the main components of euro area inflation, services are expected to have the highest annual rate in March (1.3%, compared to 0.9% in February), followed by food, alcohol and tobacco (0.7%, compared to 0.6% in February), non-energy industrial goods (0.5%, compared to 0.7% in February) and energy (-8.7%, compared to -8.1% in February).
