Brussels, 31/03/2016 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission opened a public consultation on Thursday 31 March that will run until 30 June to identify obstacles encountered when start-ups shift to a higher gear in their business.
As provided for in the single market strategy (see EUROPE 11420 and 11417), the consultation covers the entire lifecycle of start-ups, from creation, launch and expansion to shutting down or merging with other companies. It wants to know what kind of action can be launched at European level, such as setting up a one-stop-shop, putting entrepreneurs in contact with one another and incubation hubs or providing guidance about intellectual property.
“Many start-ups are facing obstacles when scaling up across Europe and beyond. It is a matter of competitiveness and innovative capacity”, said Elzbieta Bienkowska, Commissioner for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs, in a press release.
