On Tuesday 22 March, the French Minister for Agriculture announced that a possible case of bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) had been detected. The bovine possibly suffering from mad cow disease was identified on a farm in the Ardennes region of France. Samples taken from the animal have been sent to the European Union reference laboratory for confirmation and the results are expected to be made known in the next week or so....
