18/03/2016 (Agence Europe) - Malmström/Froman TTIP meeting in Brussels. On Friday 18 March in Brussels, the Commissioner for Trade, Cecilia Malmström, received the US Trade Representative, Michael Froman, in Brussels, for further policy discussions in the context of the EU/US free trade negotiations, (TTIP). Discussions are expected to focus on market access, tariffs, services and public procurement and regulatory cooperation. In the evening, they were expected to take part in a Marshall Fund Forum. TTIP negotiations achieved further progress during the 12th round of technical level talks at the end of February in Brussels, in the area of consolidating the texts in the two of the three negotiating pillars - cooperation and regulatory convergence and rules. In the context of the market access pillar, the different parties recently exchanged their offers on public procurement at the end of February (see EUROPE 11500). (EH)
