12/02/2016 (Agence Europe) - Double suicide attack in camp for displaced persons is “unacceptable”. On Thursday 11 February, the EU condemned the suicide attack carried out by two women on Tuesday, killing 58 people in the Dikwa camp in the north-west of the country which is home to 5,000 displaced persons. “Targeting innocent people, is unacceptable. Camps have to remain a place of shelter and protection”, said a spokesperson for High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini. The EU expresses its condolences and restates its “full solidarity with the Nigerian government and people in their fight against terrorism in all its forms” (see EUROPE 11483). Security and the fight against terrorism will again be high on the agenda at the upcoming EU-Nigeria Ministerial dialogue in mid-March. (AN)
