Brussels, 04/02/2016 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday 2 February, the EU and Tunisia launched a twinning programme in the form of “institutional support for controlling health and environmental risks”, a press release from the EU delegation in Tunis states. The twinning operation has been delegated to France and Germany for a period of 24 months, and will be financed by the EU for up to €1 million.
The twinning project is aimed at “mobilising all the institutional, scientific and civil society stakeholders to redefine the contours of the new regulatory framework and the mission at the centre of the National Agency for Sanitary and Environmental Control of Products (ANCSEP)”, the press release states. The EU ambassador to Tunisia, Laura Baeza, stated that “this twinning is part of a much bigger support programme for the competitiveness of services, the PACS programme, which started officially last week”.
