13/01/2016 (Agence Europe) - GEAR 2030, first meeting between Commissioner Bienkowska and new ACEA President. The Commissioner for the Internal Market and Industry, Elzbieta Bienkowska, met the new president of the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA), Dieter Zetsche (also a member of the Daimler AG Board of Directors) on Tuesday 12 January. Together, they discussed the main challenges facing the automobile industry over the next decade, particularly those involving autonomous cars and the work carried out by the high level GEAR 2030 group on competitiveness and sustainable growth in the automobile industry (see EUROPE 11416).
