12/01/2016 (Agence Europe) - Seminar on Environment and Energy programme. A seminar bringing together Tunisian and EU experts was held in Tunis on Monday 11 January to take stock of the EU-funded Environment and Energy programme in Tunisia. “This unique programme has been able to operate at the very heart of the country's sustainable development strategy, combining protection of the environment and energy efficiency within companies”, stated EU Ambassador to Tunisia Laura Baeza, opening the seminar. The Environment and Energy programme has received €33 million from the EU and covered several areas that fall within environmental protection, energy management and sustainable development policies. The seminar provided the opportunity to set out the achievements of the programme and discuss the expected benefits for the various direct and indirect beneficiaries and consider synergies with other projects and initiatives backed by Tunisia in partnership with the EU.
