11/01/2016 (Agence Europe) - ARLEM annual plenary session in Cyprus. The seventh ARLEM (Euro-Mediterranean Regional and Local Assembly) plenary session will be held in Nicosia, Cyprus, on 18 and 19 January 2016, the Committee of the Regions, which co-chairs the Assembly, has announced. One of the key issues for discussion in this session will be the ongoing revision of the European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP) and critical analysis of what this proposes for the European regions and territories and the southern shore. According to an official press release, the plenary will discuss two thematic reports: one on a sustainable urban agenda for the Mediterranean region and the other on employment and territorial development in the Mediterranean region. In light of the current situation, ARLEM will discuss “the management of migration”, as provided by the EU. (FB)
