07/01/2016 (Agence Europe) - Following a further attack, Mogherini urges Libyan parties to join forces. On Thursday 7 January, the High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini, stressed the importance of rapidly implementing the recent Libyan political agreement (see EUROPE 11457), a few hours after a devastating suicide attack using a booby-trapped tanker truck was perpetrated against a police training centre in Zliten, western Libya. It is believed that at least 55 people are dead. The political agreement reached in December is a “great opportunity” for all Libyan players to “set aside their divisions and work together, united, against the terrorist threat”, particularly as it will allow the rapid creation of a Government of National Accord, Mogherini stressed in a press release.
