05/01/2016 (Agence Europe) - Regional network of journalism schools created. Representatives from journalism schools in Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon and Palestine, as well as experts from Ireland, Spain and South Africa have undertaken to design a project of a permanent network of journalism schools in the Middle East and North Africa. The decision was taken at the end of a meeting in Casablanca on 24-25 December at the initiative of the European MedMedia project, which is financed by the EU and has a budget of €17 million. According to an official presentation, MedMedia aims to create “an environment that favours reform of the media in the southern Mediterranean region”. It aims to support the media and culture reform process in the region. (FB)
