15/12/2015 (Agence Europe) - EU's mandate for trade talks made public. On Tuesday 15 December, the EU Council decided to declassify and publish the instructions it gave the European Commission in 2009, and then amended in 2011, for negotiating a free-trade deal with Canada, negotiations that were finalised in September 2014 (see EUROPE 11449). The decision was taken at a meeting of European trade ministers on the fringes of the WTO ministerial meeting in Nairobi (see related article). (MB)
