Brussels, 28/09/2015 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission decided on Friday 25 September to open an in-depth investigation to run until 10 February 2016, under the EU regulation on mergers, into the planned acquisition of the office supplies distributor Office Depot by its competitor Staples.
Following the preliminary investigation, the European institution has concerns that the operation, involving two American companies, could lead to price increases and reduced choice.
