China will become the world's largest video game market in 2015, with sales worth $22.2 billion, ahead of the United States ($20 billion) and Japan ($12.3 billion). The European market as a whole is estimated to be worth $20.5 billion. After banning foreign consoles and video games in 2000, China re-opened its market in 2014, creating an explosion in sales.
